UNIPA NEWS (London) 12 July-A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 24-year-old woman was fatally stabbed at a property in Hayes, west London, police said.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to a property on Uxbridge Road at approximately 7:55 a.m. on Sunday following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found the woman suffering from stab injuries.
Despite the efforts of paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police also found a man in his 20s outside the property with stab injuries. He was taken to hospital, where officers are awaiting an update on his condition.
Following the incident, officers quickly located a 44-year-old man matching the suspect’s description nearby. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
According to police, the suspect was also taken to hospital with injuries believed to have been sustained after jumping from a window.
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo described the incident as “shocking” and confirmed that specialist officers are supporting the families of those affected.
“Our enquiries are in the early stages, but we do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public,” Bhangoo said. He appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist the investigation.
Police said an increased presence will remain in the Hayes area over the coming days as investigations continue.
