UNIPA News (Padang). May 8, 2026. West Sumatra’s inflation rate is very good at below 1.95%. Ahead of Eid Al-Adha on May 27, 2026, The Padang city government, West Sumatra, continues to hold monthly meetings with BULOG to maintain rice stocks and food security.
On May 7, 2026 The Head of the West Sumatra Provincial Food Service, Mr. Iqbal Ramadi Payana have a meeting with Vice Mayor Mr. Maigus Nasir and shared the good news regarding the Eid al-Adha stockpile, Padang has 12 main commodities with surplus or excess status.
The government uses five units of the Indonesian Farmers’ Shop Center (TTIC) to serve the community’s needs. Government food reserve allocation (CPP).
Chicken and beef are abundantly available. Therefore, efforts to control inflation and stabilize food prices, especially beef, are prioritized. Because the people of West Sumatra really need a supply of beef and chicken. This is very helpful for people’s finances and wallets.
The government is also prioritizing the availability of frozen food products. Refrigeration equipment is provided. And cold chain cooling machines for storing frozen meat, nuggets, sausages, Sardines and corned beef.
