A new British-based Bangla-language news platform, ‘Chetona Ekush‘ is set to officially launch on the first day of the upcoming Bengali New Year, marking a significant addition to the global Bangla media landscape.
The platform will be led by Dr. Muhammed Haider Ali, Secretary General of the United Nation Inter Pacific Association (UNIPA) and Editor-in-Chief of UNIPA News, who will take on the role of Editor. Under his leadership, Chetona Ekush aims to uphold journalistic integrity while amplifying the voices of marginalized and oppressed communities around the world.
Inspired by the historic spirit of Ekushey February, a symbol of linguistic rights and cultural identity for Bengali people, Chetona Ekush seeks to embody the enduring legacy of the mother language movement. The platform is committed to promoting truth, justice, and human dignity through responsible and impactful journalism.
Positioning itself as a voice for the voiceless, Chetona Ekush will focus on stories that highlight social injustice, human rights issues, and the struggles of disadvantaged populations. It also aims to serve as a bridge connecting the Bangla-speaking diaspora with global affairs.
As the Bengali New Year approaches, the launch of Chetona Ekush represents not only a new beginning in the calendar but also a renewed commitment to the ideals of freedom of expression and cultural pride.
UNIPA News welcomes this initiative and anticipates that Chetona Ekush will play a vital role in strengthening independent journalism within the global Bangla-speaking community.
