An inspiring story of honesty is making waves across Florida after a man returned more than $30,000 in cash that had been accidentally left inside a Wawa convenience store restroom.
Reports say a Florida resident mistakenly left behind a black fanny pack containing $30,023 while visiting the store. The bag was later found by Luis Salavar, who chose to immediately return the money to its rightful owner rather than keep it for himself.
“$30,000 is a lot of money, but it doesn’t belong to me,” Salavar said. “I prefer to earn my money honestly.”
Salavar’s remarkable act quickly gained praise on social media, where many people described him as a symbol of integrity, honesty, and strong moral character at a time when positive stories often stand out.
Local residents and authorities also applauded his decision, saying his actions served as a reminder that honesty and kindness still exist in everyday life.
The owner of the money reportedly became emotional after recovering the cash and expressed deep gratitude for Salavar’s unforgettable gesture.
