UNIPA News(Washington D.C)-U.S. President Donald Trump said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would ultimately have to accept any agreement reached between Washington and Tehran, emphasizing that the United States is solely responsible for determining the outcome of ongoing negotiations with Iran.
In an interview with the Financial Times published on Sunday, Trump asserted that Washington, rather than Jerusalem, would decide the direction of the talks.
“He won’t have any choice,” Trump said. “I call the shots. I call all the shots. He doesn’t call the shots.”
Trump’s remarks came amid heightened regional tensions following Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel, which Tehran launched in response to Israeli military actions in Lebanon.
Despite the escalation, Trump indicated that the missile strikes would not affect ongoing diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran.
“It’s not going to have any impact on the deal,” Trump said, adding that he believed negotiations remained on track despite recent hostilities.
The U.S. president also said he would advise Netanyahu against retaliatory action against Iran, arguing that further military escalation could undermine diplomatic progress.
While expressing confidence that negotiations were continuing, Trump declined to predict whether an agreement would be reached.
“I think the deal is going on. We’ll see what happens,” he said.
Trump further reiterated that the success or failure of any agreement would depend on its own merits rather than recent military developments, maintaining that Iran’s missile attack would not influence the outcome of the negotiations.
