UNIPA News| Kyiv | 14 July-Ukraine’s General Staff said on July 14 that Russia has suffered approximately 1,421,810 troop casualties since the launch of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.
According to the latest operational update, Russian forces sustained an estimated 1,120 casualties over the previous 24 hours. The figures were released as part of Ukraine’s daily assessment of Russian military losses.
The General Staff also reported that Russia has lost 12,131 tanks, 24,932 armored combat vehicles, 45,911 artillery systems, 1,931 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,491 air defense systems, 437 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 407,201 drones, 119,862 military vehicles and fuel tankers, 1,905 ground robotic systems, 33 ships and boats, and two submarines since the beginning of the invasion.
The Ukrainian military has not disclosed its own casualty figures, citing operational security.
Independent assessments by Western research organizations have generally concluded that Russian military casualties exceed those of Ukraine. The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has previously estimated the casualty ratio at approximately 2.5:1 or 2:1 in Ukraine’s favor.
In a report published in January 2026, CSIS estimated that Ukraine likely sustained between 500,000 and 600,000 total casualties between February 2022 and December 2025, including an estimated 100,000 to 140,000 personnel killed in action.
The casualty figures released by Ukraine and estimates from independent organizations have not been independently verified.
