UNIPA News(Havana) 28 March-The presence of several United States vessels around the island of Cuba coincides with the approach of the Russian tanker Anatoly Kolodkin, which is moving toward the region in defiance of Washington’s sanctions.
The United States has prohibited the shipment of Russian oil to Cuba as part of an effort to further pressure the regime. This naval surveillance sends a clear message: any operation in the area will be closely monitored and recorded.
Even though a direct interception in international waters would carry significant legal and diplomatic risks, the presence of these ships serves as a forceful warning. Washington does not need to fire a shot to make it clear that Cuba is under intense scrutiny.
The Cuban people continue to pay the price for a regime that depends on external allies for its survival. As Russian oil attempts to reach its destination, the island remains trapped between international sanctions and military surveillance.
