Minangkabau is very famous for its Gonjong House shape. Its distinctive shape, like a buffalo horn, shows the results of the people’s hard work.
In this modern era, there is the Gonjong House Special. This house is covered in gold, hence the name Gonjong Gold House. It is located at Baiturrahmah University. The owners of this house are Mrs. Hj. Maizarnis and Mr. H. Amran Sutan Sidi Sulaiman.They are the founders of the Baiturrahmah Foundation and Baiturrahmah University. Mrs. Hj. Maizarnis and Mr. H. Amran Sutan Sidi Sulaiman are the parents of The Mayor of Padang, Mr. Fadly Amran, MBA. The house is near Baiturrahmah’s Mosque. The yard is spacious. It can be used for gathering guests when holding events.
Gonjong Gold House It is similar to Versailles Palace in England. The pillars of the house are covered in gold. It is truly stunning and amazing.
The stairs It’s truly beautiful and covered in gold. Many visitors are amazed. The stairway has a meaning about the twists and turns of human life, sometimes joyous and sometimes sorrowful.

Inside the house, there are many special rooms and rooms that are neatly arranged like in a palace.
