China has announced a new humanitarian assistance package for several Middle Eastern countries, including Iran, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, as regional tensions continue to escalate.

According to Chinese officials, Beijing has allocated $200,000 in emergency aid to the Iranian Red Crescent. The funds are intended to support families affected by a recent attack on a primary school in Minab, located in Iran’s Hormozgan province, where several young girls were killed.

Speaking on the development, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Beijing remains committed to the principle of building “a community with a shared future for mankind.” He noted that ongoing conflicts have triggered a severe humanitarian crisis across Iran and neighboring countries.

Lin emphasized that China would continue diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation, adding that Beijing is working to promote peace, halt hostilities, and help restore stability in the region while preventing further deterioration of humanitarian conditions.

The latest crisis follows a major escalation after a February 28 attack on Iran, reportedly carried out by the United States and Israel, which has significantly worsened the situation on the ground.

Data from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees indicates that more than 1,300 people have been killed in Iran, including senior leadership figures, while up to one million families have been forced to flee their homes.

In Lebanon, the humanitarian toll has also been severe. The country’s Ministry of Public Health reports that at least 826 people have been killed and around 2,000 injured since early March. The violence has also claimed the lives of dozens of paramedics and healthcare workers, while multiple hospitals have been forced to shut down. Displacement figures have surpassed 830,000.

In a separate statement, Lin also addressed rising tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, urging both sides to engage in direct dialogue. He described negotiations as the most effective path toward resolving bilateral disputes.

China further called on both countries to guarantee the safety of Chinese citizens, infrastructure projects, and institutions operating within their borders, reaffirming its intention to play a constructive role in easing regional tensions.
