UNIPA News(Haiti)-In Delmas 33, officers from the Haitian National Police took to the streets this Monday to demand the release of four colleagues currently in custody. The officers are linked to an incident involving gunfire on a vehicle suspected of being used in a kidnapping case.
Barricades were set up in the area, causing major traffic disruptions and paralyzing several roads. The officers claim they acted following an alert and under orders from their superiors. Meanwhile, the Haitian justice system is continuing its investigation to clarify the circumstances and determine responsibility.
In the northern region of the country, residents also staged protests, calling for better living conditions. Demonstrators highlighted ongoing economic hardship, insecurity, and lack of basic services.
The situation remains tense in several areas as social and security-related demands continue to grow.
