UNIPA News(Seoul) 17 June-Actress Tasha Low has revealed that she struggled with low self-esteem and confidence after returning to Singapore from South Korea in 2018, following several years in the K-pop industry.
Speaking at a watch party for her upcoming microdrama Seven Days Reborn on June 12, the 32-year-old said she faced significant mental health challenges during the period after her entertainment career in South Korea.
According to Tasha, her experiences as a member of the Singaporean-South Korean girl group SKarf between 2012 and 2014, as well as her subsequent solo activities until 2017, had a lasting impact on her self-confidence. She said she often felt inadequate and struggled with feelings of self-worth.
The actress recalled that her anxiety became so severe that she avoided using public transportation, fearing judgment from others despite acknowledging that such concerns were largely based on her own perceptions.
Tasha said the difficulties also affected her social interactions, making her withdrawn and hesitant to communicate with people. She added that it took several years before she was able to overcome those challenges, attributing her recovery to personal growth and support from close friends.
She credited fellow actresses Chantalle Ng and Kimberly Chia for helping her rebuild her confidence, saying their encouragement played a key role in helping her recognise her self-worth.
Reflecting on her journey, Tasha said she would advise her younger self to separate professional setbacks from personal life, noting that emotional struggles related to work had previously affected her relationships and overall well-being.
Meanwhile, Tasha is set to star in the upcoming multilingual microdrama Seven Days Reborn, where she plays investigative journalist Chen Kaiqian. The character is murdered after exposing a criminal network and later finds herself trapped in a time loop, forcing her to work with an international investigator to alter the course of events before her death.
The series marks Tasha’s second microdrama project following Bowl of Love (2026). In Seven Days Reborn, she performs in multiple languages, speaking Mandarin alongside veteran actor Mark Lee and Korean with South Korean actor Kang Yul.
