UNIPA News (Haiti) April 8,2026-Prominent Haitian physician, entrepreneur, and former presidential candidate, Dr. Pierre Réginald Boulos, is facing imminent removal from the United States following a final deportation order issued by an immigration judge on April 2, 2026.
According to multiple sources, U.S. authorities are preparing to transfer Dr. Boulos from the Krome North Service Processing Center in Miami to a South Florida airport, where he is expected to board a commercial flight bound for Colombia. The removal is scheduled to take place within 15 days of the ruling, in accordance with a court-approved agreement between his legal representatives and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Reports indicate that Dr. Boulos was offered a choice between deportation to Colombia or Mexico, with Colombia ultimately selected as the destination. U.S. authorities are currently unable to deport him directly to Haiti due to prevailing security concerns and legal constraints.
The April 2 deportation order follows shortly after a federal judge granted Dr. Boulos a bond hearing—considered a partial legal victory by his defense team, which has challenged the legality of his extended detention. However, this development does not appear to have delayed or prevented the enforcement of the removal order.
Miami-based immigration attorney Frandley Denis Julien has confirmed key elements of the court’s decision, including the joint motion filed and approved in coordination with federal authorities. Meanwhile, Dr. Boulos’ legal team continues to dispute several aspects of the case, notably issues surrounding his prior renunciation of U.S. citizenship.
Dr. Boulos, a lawful permanent resident of the United States and Haitian national, was arrested on July 17, 2025, at his residence in Palm Beach County, Florida, by agents of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), a division of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
U.S. authorities allege that he contributed to political destabilization in Haiti through connections with figures associated with the “Viv Ansanm” group. Additionally, he is accused of providing false or incomplete information in his green card application, particularly regarding his political activities and alleged involvement in corruption-related matters.
In recent days, a photograph circulating widely on Haitian social media appeared to show Dr. Boulos smiling aboard a commercial aircraft alongside a woman, leading to speculation that he had already been deported. However, as of April 7, 2026, reliable sources confirm that he remains in U.S. custody, and the deportation process has not yet been executed.
