According to local officials on both sides, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeted military infrastructure and strategic facilities in border regions overnight. Authorities in eastern Ukraine reported multiple explosions in areas close to the frontline, with emergency services deployed to assess damage and assist civilians. Meanwhile, Russian regional governors stated that air defense systems intercepted several incoming drones, though some reportedly struck energy-related sites, causing temporary power disruptions.
The recent surge in drone warfare reflects an evolving battlefield strategy, where both sides increasingly rely on long-range and precision-guided unmanned systems. Military analysts note that drone operations have become a central component of the conflict, enabling cross-border strikes while minimizing direct troop engagement.
