UNIPA NEWS (Dubai), 12 May: Iran has formally expressed its support for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s four-point proposal aimed at restoring long-term peace and stability in the Middle East.
In an official statement, Iran’s Ambassador to China, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, said Tehran is fully prepared to work closely with Beijing to implement the initiative. He noted that the core objective of the proposal is to ensure sustainable security in the Persian Gulf region while opening new avenues for mutual development among regional nations.
The key elements of President Xi Jinping’s four-point peace proposal are as follows:
- Peaceful Coexistence and a Collective Security Framework:
Promoting harmony and stronger relations among Middle Eastern and Gulf countries in order to establish a comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable regional security structure. - Respect for National Sovereignty:
Ensuring full respect for the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Middle Eastern nations, while effectively safeguarding the safety of their people and infrastructure. - Adherence to International Law:
Upholding international laws and regulations to prevent the world from descending into a “law of the jungle” or a state of lawlessness. - Balancing Development and Security:
Achieving regional stability not solely through military strength, but by maintaining a balance between economic development and security cooperation.
Ambassador Fazli also stated that the issue received significant attention during recent discussions between the foreign ministers of Iran and China. Iran’s support is being viewed as a positive response to China’s growing diplomatic role in maintaining regional security.
In his remarks, Fazli emphasized that President Xi Jinping’s proposal could serve as an effective framework for ensuring shared development and collective security across the region.
Earlier, President Xi Jinping presented the four-point peace initiative during a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was visiting Beijing. The proposal is being seen as a new diplomatic approach to addressing the ongoing instability in the Middle East and strengthening regional stability.
International political analysts believe Iran’s public endorsement will further reinforce Beijing’s peace efforts and enhance China’s influence in Middle Eastern diplomacy.
