Iran has delivered a strong warning to Bahrain, accusing the Gulf nation of engaging in anti-Tehran activities. Speaking on Sunday, Iranian lawmaker and former Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki criticized Bahrain’s leadership and cautioned Manama against what he described as provocative actions aligned with Washington’s agenda.
Mottaki alleged that Bahrain is acting as a “proxy” for the United States and claimed its leadership lacks the foresight to understand the consequences of escalating tensions with Iran. He stated that while Bahrain should avoid political manipulation with Washington, it must also refrain from attempting any form of deception or hostility toward Tehran.
According to the Iranian official, Bahrain has initiated actions that were already part of the White House’s broader regional strategy against Iran. He further warned that any continued anti-Iran activities by Manama could lead to serious consequences.
Issuing a direct message to Bahrain, Mottaki declared that this would be the Gulf state’s “final anti-Iran attempt,” signaling Tehran’s readiness to respond firmly to any perceived threats.
Since the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East on February 28, Iran has reportedly carried out retaliatory operations against several countries, including Bahrain. Iranian forces are said to have targeted U.S. military facilities and key strategic infrastructure located within the kingdom, further intensifying regional instability.
