Tokyo ,06 July(UNIPA News)— Japan’s Foreign Ministry is considering easing its evacuation advisory for Iran and three other Middle Eastern countries following a U.S.-Iran agreement aimed at ending recent hostilities.
The move comes as several countries begin restoring business operations across the region and Japanese companies with operations in the Middle East urge the government to lower its travel warning.
Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said on Friday that the government would make its decision after carefully assessing the implementation of the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding and monitoring further developments.
“We will make appropriate decisions by assessing the implementation status of the memorandum of understanding and other developments,” Motegi told a press conference.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, Japan remains cautious as uncertainty continues over the progress of U.S.-Iran negotiations following the signing of the memorandum last month.
Japan’s Foreign Ministry currently operates a four-level travel advisory system. Level 4, the highest alert, urges Japanese nationals to evacuate, while Level 1 advises travelers to exercise caution. Any revision to the advisory would reflect Tokyo’s assessment of the regional security situation and the durability of the diplomatic agreement.
