UNIPA News(Dhaka)– The Law & Justice Foundation (LJF), a prominent non-political and independent human rights organization, is significantly expanding its global footprint in advocating for justice and equality. Since gaining Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2022, the foundation has strengthened its role as a key player in the international human rights arena.

Established in 2011, LJF has dedicated over a decade to providing pro bono legal aid, conducting critical research, and running advocacy campaigns aimed at protecting the marginalized and downtrodden. With administrative hubs in London and Dhaka, the organization operates as a vital bridge between grassroots legal needs and international human rights standards.

A Mission for Equality and Justice

The foundation’s core mission revolves around ensuring that every individual, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to the legal system. Their work specifically targets:

  • Pro Bono Legal Services: Offering free legal advice and representation to those unable to afford it.
  • Human Rights Monitoring: Diligently tracking and reporting violations to ensure accountability.
  • Social Reform: Actively campaigning against social evils such as the dowry system and child marriage.
  • Empowerment: Conducting workshops to educate citizens on their constitutional and legal rights.

Global Recognition and Strategic Vision

The UN Consultative Status allows LJF to actively engage with UN bodies, submit written statements, and participate in international conferences, ensuring that the voice of the underprivileged is heard at the highest levels of global governance.

Under its current leadership, LJF has launched several high-impact initiatives, including a nationwide legal aid program and annual research reports that highlight gaps in the justice system. The organization remains committed to upholding democratic values and human dignity, inviting international partners and volunteers to join their mission of creating a more equitable society.
