UNIPA NEWS|| 27 June- Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour are set to reunite on screen as a father-daughter duo in an upcoming untitled Netflix spy drama, following the conclusion of Stranger Things with its fifth and final season earlier this year.
The espionage series will star Harbour as Matt Wolfe, a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert who is forced back into the world of intelligence after his estranged daughter, FBI agent Rebecca, played by Brown, disappears during a mission.
The series is written by Adolescence screenwriter Jack Thorne, who will also serve as an executive producer alongside Brown, Harbour, Brown’s husband Jake Bongiovi, and her father Robert Brown. The project is being produced by A24 in collaboration with Netflix.
Jinny Howe, Head of Scripted Series at Netflix US and Canada, said Netflix was pleased to bring together a team of collaborators with a strong creative track record. She praised Thorne’s ability to combine emotional storytelling with suspense and said audiences would enjoy seeing Brown and Harbour reunite as an estranged father and daughter navigating a high-stakes crisis.
The new series follows the success of Adolescence, which received widespread acclaim and industry recognition.
Brown and Harbour previously starred together in Stranger Things, portraying Eleven and Jim Hopper, the police chief who becomes her adoptive father. Their on-screen relationship was widely regarded as one of the defining elements of the hit Netflix science fiction series.
