Vice Mayor of Padang Mr. Maigus Nasir as General Chair of LPTQ and MTQ Judges of North Padang District. Hopefully all participants and the committee Musabaqoh Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) really serious. The Chairman of the North Padang MTQ Committee is Zainal Hamdi.
The seven MTQ branches being competed are Tilawatil Qur’an, Tahfidzul Qur’an, Tartil Qur’an, Syarhil Qur’an, Fahmil Qur’an and the Sermon and Adhan branches.
The opening ceremony of the 42nd MTQ was held on May 23, 2026. This important event was attended by Member of the Regional People’s Representative Council of Padang City, Arnedi Yamen and Yoserizal Effendi, Head of the Office of the Ministry of Religion of Padang City Yasril, Head of North Padang District and Subdistrict Leadership Forum. It is hoped that all MTQ activities will run smoothly and produce a generation of Qur’an readers who are faithful, pious and cultured.
