UNIPA news (Padang). August 7, 2026. Padang city’s 357th anniversary on August 7, 2026. This special and spectacular event, holding a lanterns festival and Minangkabau Arts Festival on August 6, 2026 at Cimpago Beach and Cimpago Lagoon.
Attended by the Mayor of Padang Mr. Fadly Amran, M. BA and Vice Mayor of Padang City Mr. Maigus Nasir. 11 sub-districts in the city of Padang, namely Pauh sub-district, Lubuk Kilangan sub-district, South Padang sub-district, West Padang sub-district, East Padang sub-district, Central Padang sub-district, etc.
This event was enlivened by the best performances of the Lantern Festival participants. They display durian-shaped lanterns, flower garden, drum giant, and Minang girl in traditional Baju kurung.
Minangkabau cultural arts performances such as Randai and pencak silat, and traditional Minangkabau dances.This event had a positive impact on the people of Padang, strengthening the unity and integrity of the Padang community.
Promoting Minangkabau culture and traditional arts to the world attended by guests from friendly countries. Everyone enjoyed this wonderful event. A sense of togetherness and gratitude, and a sense of family were clearly evident at this joyous occasion in the beloved city of Padang.
