UNIPA News (Padang). June 17, 2026. Welcoming the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1448 Hijriah, On June 16, 2026, Padang City Regional Government, together with Mayor of Padang Mr. Fadly Amran, M.BA and Vice Mayor of Padang, Mr. Maigus Nasir opened and participated in the Tauhid Parade starting from courtyard of the Nurul Iman Grand Mosque.

All participants of the long march continued to the Grand Mosque of Sheikh Abdul Khatib Al Minangkabawi via Jendral Sudirman street.

This moment is the change of the Islamic New Year. We all reflect on our life journey together. Migrating from the bad to the better. Alhamdulillah, “Hopefully, this Tauhid Parade will be part of our efforts to show changes for the better,” said Mr. Fadly Amran, M.BA.

All participants of the Tauhid Parade chanted takbir and shalawat while listening to a sermon from a member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia, Jelita Donal, Habib Rizieq Shihab, Ustadz Derry Sulaiman and a number of Islamic figures. They provided renewed enthusiasm and motivation to begin the month of Muharram with strong and positive determination.

Participants in the long march welcoming the Islamic New Year were very grateful and enthusiastic about the sermon and entertainment provided by Islamic preacher Ustadz Derry Sulaiman. He successfully provided a sense of calm and guidance.To always try and be sincere in living your life. This Islamic religious activity increases our belief in Allah and imitates the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Increasing the unity and integrity of the Padang city community.

Belief in Allah as the creator Allah and belief that Islam is a religion that brings salvation. Providing enlightenment and hope for families to always be enthusiastic and grateful. Allah always look after the safety of his people. Rich and poor are always the same in the eyes of Allah SWT.
