UNIPA News (Padang). April 27, 2026. Regional Autonomy Day is a day to commemorate regional innovation and independence. According to the Minister of Home Affairs, Regional Autonomy Day is a strategic role for regional autonomy in encouraging equitable development.
Improving the quality of public services and accelerating community welfare. That was the speech from the Minister of Home Affairs Jend. (Purn) Prof.Drs. Alhajj Muhammad Tito Karnavian M.A, Phd which was read by Mr. Mahyeldi Ansharullah S.P. M.M in the yard of the West Sumatra Governor’s office on April 27, 2026.
Celebration of 30th Regional Autonomy Day with the theme “With Regional Autonomy We Realize Hopes and Aspirations”.
This is a momentum to strengthen the commitment of the regional government to be more responsive, independent and real impact and real work and service for the country.
The main focus of Regional Autonomy is strengthening the synchronization of planning and budgeting, implementing results-oriented bureaucratic reforms and increasing regional fiscal independence.
Collaboration between regions, improving basic services and strengthening regional stability.
So Regional Autonomy is the main instrument to accelerate community welfare through innovation and strengthening fiscal independence.
Regional governments must optimize regional original income from leading sectors. Tourism and UMKM Small and medium enterprise sector. The commemoration ceremony was focused attended by various elements within the West Sumatra Provincial Government, Head of Kesbangpol Sumbar, Mr. Mursalim as the ceremony commander. May the Regional Autonomy of West Sumatra bring progress and prosperity to the people.
