unipa News || Istanbul || 29 June-Türkiye has strongly condemned Israeli military strikes targeting Syria’s southern provinces of Quneitra and Daraa, describing the attacks as violations of Syria’s territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty.

In a statement issued on Monday, Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry said the strikes also constituted a clear breach of international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. The ministry said the attacks endangered civilians and their property while further worsening humanitarian conditions in the region.

“We strongly condemn Israel’s attacks on Quneitra and Daraa, which violate Syria’s territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty,” the ministry said, adding that the international community should take responsibility to prevent actions that undermine Syria’s stability and its progress since December 2024.

The statement followed an announcement by the Israeli military on Sunday that its forces had killed two people in southern Syria. The Israeli army claimed the individuals had moved in an “unusual manner” inside what it described as a security zone established by Israel in Syrian territory.

Following the collapse of the Assad government on December 8, 2024, Israel declared the 1974 Disengagement Agreement no longer applicable and subsequently took control of a buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border.

The latest developments have added to regional tensions, with Türkiye accusing Israel of violating Syrian sovereignty and calling for international action to prevent further escalation.
