UNIPA NEWS(Haiti): The United States has announced that it has struck approximately 6,000 targets in Iran since the beginning of the war on February 28, according to a statement from the U.S. military command responsible for the Middle East.
The information was released through a statement published on X by United States Central Command (CENTCOM), the military authority overseeing U.S. operations in the region.
According to the statement, the military operations targeted several strategic infrastructures. Among the targets were more than 90 Iranian vessels, including around thirty mine-laying ships, which were described as potential threats to maritime security and international shipping routes.
These strikes are part of the ongoing military operations carried out by the United States in the current conflict involving Iran. U.S. military authorities say the actions are intended to reduce Iranian military capabilities and protect strategic interests in the region.
However, the escalation has raised serious concerns within the international community. Several observers and organizations are calling for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent the conflict from expanding further across the Middle East, which could have major consequences for regional stability and the global economy.
As tensions remain high, many international actors continue to urge dialogue and peaceful solutions to avoid a wider war in the region.
